Product information "Ekote slow release fertiliser 16-8-16 N-P-K with Ca and B, 25 kg bag"

Fertilisation of Christmas trees with Ekote slow-release fertiliser 4-5 months effect

In many cases, Christmas trees are not grown on the best arable sites, but rather in difficult site conditions:

- light soils

- thin soils in low mountain ranges or on limestone

- high precipitation, especially in low mountain ranges

- stony soils with reduced nutrient holding capacity.

All these conditions make secure nutrition difficult and increase the risk of nutrient leaching. If a nutrient deficiency occurs from late summer onwards due to insufficient amounts of fertiliser or losses due to nutrient leaching

If a nutrient deficiency occurs due to insufficient fertiliser or losses due to nutrient leaching from late summer onwards - recognisable by a light green or yellow-green needle colour - this deficiency is difficult to correct. Already a proportion of 5-15% of too light-coloured, poorly marketable trees can mean a loss of several thousand euros per hectare.

Fertilise your crop with Ekote slow-release fertiliser with a single application before the trees bud in April. The fast-flowing fertiliser portion ensures a secure supply during the main requirement for budding and new shoot formation.

The slow-flowing nutrient portion is only released slowly over a period of 4-5 months. The Christmas trees therefore have a slow and steady flowing source of nitrogen available until September - this prevents the creeping brightening of the trees. The coated nutrients cannot be washed out and are available for uptake by the plant in steady doses after release.
